The Emmett Technique in Leicestershire
About the treatment
An Emmett treatment can be completed fully clothed, and the techniques can be used to help restore movement and reduce pain or, as a relaxing whole body treatment.
Emmett is a treatment that uses light finger pressure and switching motions to release tension, pain and discomfort and bring balance to the body.
The EMMETT Technique can also be used to help animals, I am hoping to complete this training for working with animals in the future.
Treatment Responses
The relaxing nature of the technique results in people reporting typical responses such as:
- More restful sleep
- Enhanced mood
- A sense of lightness within their body
- Improved comfort and ease within the areas treated such as back, abdomen, hips, legs, knees, ankles, feet, shoulders, arms, hands and neck.
Most people report an immediate and significant improvement with the problem that has been troubling them, for example restricted arm movement. Many people who previously had limitations on what they could do, find that they can perform these actions more easily after treatment.
Appointments
The Emmett technique can be booked as a standalone appointment.
The same techniques may also be used by Lisa as part of a Sports / Remedial massage or Scar Therapy appointment.
Treatment Analogy
An analogy used to describe how such gentle Emmett techniques can be so effective is by comparing it with how we use touch-screens on mobile phones.
If you touch too hard, nothing happens. If you touch on the wrong spot nothing happens. If you hold for too long, all the icons start to shake.
But if you touch with just the right amount of pressure in a specific location, an application opens and you are good to go.
